My 9-month experiment in Ratchada is over; I have moved back to Sukhumvit. It feels like coming home.
I was supposed to get the room on Monday the first of December, but I ended up moving in over the weekend.
I had asked the property manager to let me know if it was possible to move into the room early… with the 1st being a Monday, I thought there was a good chance the former tenant might vacate over the weekend. I went by early on Saturday morning on my way to work hoping to sign the lease and ask about the possibility of getting in the apartment sometime on Sunday.
I was waiting for the manager when she arrived at the building. When she saw me she got an embarrassed grin and called out to me, “It’s not clean yet!”
