I decided to write this blog after reading a recent comment:
Hey WW great catching up with u the other night for a couple of beers – sorry i had to flee but the old 10 baht wishkey had the girl almost paraletic!!! and i had a whole night of sexual deviancy planned. U were right she is a nice girl and we had a blast for a couple of nights and i had the usual post bangkok depression knowing u would be going into shark bar to plunder Jiep whilst i was on the plane back to my boring office job…. anyway give her 1 for me and make it a good 1!!!
Basically, a guy named Carey hit town last week, and I joined him and some of his mates on Soi Cowboy on Saturday night. By the time I met them, they each had a girl barfined and following them. There were four guys in the group, and the four girls were a varied lot.
The guys had gotten in early and barfined before 8 p.m., choosing exactly the girls they wanted.
One of the girls was a bit older – definitely in her 30s – and a hardened bar girl who knew the game. She was an attractive woman who looked like she’d seen everything.
The second girl had bleach-blond hair and enhanced titties. Not my look, but if it’s yours, then she’d be a great pick.
The third girl was short and surprisingly plain or non-descript. With all of Soi Cowboy to choose from, I’m surprised she made the cut.
But the pick of the litter, in my opinion, was Carey’s girl. A dancer from Shark Bar who was 20 years old with a lovely smile and eyelashes so long that it was hard to believe that they were real. She had long hair and a tight little body with everything natural.
I told Carey, truthfully, that I recognized his girl. I’d seen her dancing in Shark before. I’d considered barfining her, but had never done so. I’d never done as much as buy her a drink.
With all of us at a table together, eating dinner and having a few drinks, I learned that she spoke very good English. She was beautiful and charming, with the “jai dee” attitude that I look for in Thai bar girls. I could barely rip my eyes off of her.
Carey was only in town for a few days. It was a business trip, but his business associates were all about having a good time.
I teased him that as soon as he was on the plane back to farangland I was gonna go straight to the Shark Bar and bar fine his girl. That’s one of the advantages of living here.
Carey took my threat with the good humour that it deserved. He has been gone for a week, and I haven’t actually gone back looking for her.
Of course, pay day is Friday….
The guys in the group, since they had their girls already, were interested in doing something entertaining for a couple of hours. Someone mentioned live music. I offered a few venues in the neighborhood (Tokyo Joes, Mojos, Titanium Bar, even Hard Rock Café and the Rock Pub), but the option that seemed to win the day was to stroll a few meters down Soi Cowboy to Country Road.
We did that.
The music at Country Road will never win any awards for quality, but once you are a certain age it has a familiarity about it that livens the spirit. And we know that a lively customer who is buying drinks tends to put any bar girl in a good mood. The four guys, their four girls and I were having a pretty good time.
One of the girls bought some crickets – well, some sort of cooked insect anyway – and I was happily munching away, while the other guys were either refusing outright or limiting the intake to a single bug.
I told the guys about the Thai whiskey cart outside where you could by 10-baht shots and asked if they’d like to try. They said they’d get shots for the girls, but I told them the girls wouldn’t want to drink the rot-gut. They asked the girls anyway. The girls said ‘no’. Someone bought the shots anyway, and all of us had to down some of the world’s worst whiskey shots in the name of experiencing the local life of Bangkok.
Bugs, bad whiskey shots and lousy live music. Somehow it was a lot of fun.
Sometime around midnight all the boys decided they needed to take their girls home for a good shagging.
Sometime after they left my phone rang. One of my regulars was calling me; she didn’t get barfined and was looking for a customer. I was well-oiled and it sounded like a good idea. She showed up about 30 minutes later, and we went home together.
The night actually ended up a bit screwed up for me, but that’s another story. She and I didn’t get to my room and into bed until nearly sunrise, and by the time we did I was in no mood to play. I did my shagging with her on Sunday afternoon.
I didn’t see Carey again on his trip. He touched base on Sunday evening via SMS, but I was nearly dead with exhaustion, and simply replied that I wouldn’t be able to get out with him that night, which was a shame because he and his friends were good fun.
And then today he left the comment above.
I actually saw Carey’s girl on Soi Cowboy a couple of nights ago. She walked right past me without a flicker of recognition.
I guess all this has me thinking that it might be fun to go over to Shark Bar this weekend and bar fine Carey’s girl, but I probably won’t do it. She’s a sweetheart, and I’m sure it’d be fun, but somehow I’m sure once I get to Soi Cowboy I’ll get distracted by another girl. The number of girls on Soi Cowboy and in Nana Plaza that I’ve seen and sworn to come back for ‘someday’ must number in the hundreds now. The fact is that I’ve only ever come back for a handful of them over the years.
To paraphrase the old saying: There are just so many girls, and so little time!
So, Carey, Jiap is probably safe… at least from me. But as for all the other guys out there reading the site, if you like them young, beautiful, slim, natural, pleasant and well-spoken in English, you may want to be heading over to the Shark Bar and try bustin’ Carey’s girl.

The night actually ended up a bit screwed up for me, but that’s another story.
Does it involve you losing another mobile or filling into an open sewer? Those “other stories” are some of your best posts

I can see why your posts about the p4p scene get the most hits. Describing an entertaining night out with a pal, and then advertising his girl for sale on a public blog after he’s left the scene is simply hilarious! Yes, I know she’s a hooker, but it’s a hoot all the same… considering our own lifestyles back here in theWest where that kind of behaviour would be unconscionable even after just a one-night stand.
On another note, I keep reading dire reports of the slow death of the barscene recently, with something like a 30% shortfall of tourists. Does this mean more choice for you? Are the girls less mean-spirited? Or are you not really noticing much difference?
I haven’t visited the scene for more than a year., when times were better.

Great post – subtle and devious at the same time! She’s a stunner. Think I’ll pop over to Shark’s tonight to celebrate Loi Kratong.

I had the same question as Billy Bangkok. Weird.

WillBKK & GM: All in good time my friends. The reason I let a week and a half go by without posting was that it was a difficult week that started on Saturday night/Sunday morning. It’ll take three — maybe four — blog posts to tell the story.
No lost phones or open sewers, but plenty of adventure for me.
Patience.
In the meantime, Cheers Mark. Let us know if she was worth the effort.
Swampthing: I’ve never really dealt with “mean spirited” girls, but I can say that I’m paying the girls about a third less than I was this time last year. In fact, I’m paying less than I did when I was a tourist back in 2005, but that’s probably just because I was overpaying then.
From a customer standpoint I don’t see any ’slow death’ but I read TFS2M as well, and as bar owners those guys have every right to be concerned I guess.
In the past two months two large new bars (The Penalty Spot and Champagne Charlie’s) have opened just east of Asoke Station. I think that one thing that’s been happening for a while is that the business is shifting east. Soi zero and Soi 1 died hard last year. Soi 4 is feeling the pinch now.
I don’t own a bar, so I don’t see numbers, but Soi Cowboy has been pretty busy on all my visits lately. If it is as bad as reported then I don’t see it because I’m not the type to count heads when I go into a bar. Business could be half of last year and I wouldn’t really notice.

Hey there WW!!! yes it was a great night and having a local perspective (such as 10 baht whiskey) made it better… well sort of … that bloody whiskey really does screw up your eye sight – no wonder the go go girls down a shot or two during their shift – that way they cant see if we r handsome man or just plain butt ugly!!! I recommend Jiep at Shark Bar for a GFE – she really is very sweet and been on the game for just 3 months. I took her for several nights inlc some shopping and dinner but then followed up on a dirty little girl from Tilac #152 (which i also recommend for those that like LBFM spinners) – so Mark (and others) go and do your bit for the Soi Cowbow economy and WW definitely add Jiep to your super spinners list as a 9!!!

I went into Shark Bar fairly early last night, with two FOBs. I definitely had my eye out for Jiep, but I didn’t see her. It was Loi Krathong festival, and we moved around a lot, so we were only in Shark for about 25 minutes… maybe she came in later to meet Mark.
